State of emergency in Bishkek

The opposition in Kyrgyzstan says it is setting up a "people's government" after deadly clashes left dozens dead.

The Kyrgyz health ministry said 40 people had died in the clashes in the capital, Bishkek, and more than 400 were injured.

Thousands of protesters stormed government buildings and TV offices. Police reportedly fired live rounds.

This footage shows a crowd chasing and attacking riot police. A military truck was seized and later set on fire.
