China hit by record snowfall

Record snow-falls have disrupted air and road travel in Northeast Asia. The South Korean capital, Seoul, had its heaviest daily snowfall since records began. Dozens of flights were delayed or cancelled and commuters struggled to get to work.

In the Chinese capital, Beijing, schools were closed and thousands of residents mobilised to help clear snow and ice from roads.
