| Wednesday, 19 July, 2000, 09:45 GMT 10:45 UK New Mongolian parliament sworn in A new parliament in Mongolia has been sworn in following the elections two weeks ago in which the Communists achieved a landslide victory. The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party won seventy-two of the seventy-six seats to recover a position of dominance it has not held since the collapse of the Soviet Union. In a speech to the new assembly, President Natsagiin Bagabandi appealed to MPs to form a government quickly in order to tackle pressing issues facing the country.
