| Friday, 24 April, 1998, 10:16 GMT 11:16 UK Dengue fever drains blood in Indonesia Health workers in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, say they're running short of blood supplies to treat patients infected by the mosquito-borne disease, dengue fever. Officials of the International Red Cross said they could not cope with the increased demand for blood, following an outbreak of the disease which has killed more than four-hundred people in Indonesia this year. The Health Minister Farid Anfasa Muluksaid more than sixteen-thousand people had been infected across the country.
