At least 25 people have died and more than 50 are missing in China in the aftermath of Typhoon Kaemi, state media reports. Kaemi, which blew up from the Philippines and passed across Taiwan, hit the coast of southern China on Tuesday before moving inland.
Most of the casualties occurred in Jiangxi province, Xinhua news agency said.
Kaemi was the seventh storm to hit the region this season.
China is still coping with the aftermath of Typhoon Bilis, which claimed more than 600 lives when it hit the south of the country earlier this month.
Six of those killed by Kaemi died when flash floods hit a military barracks in the eastern part of Jiangxi province.
Another 38 soldiers and relatives are missing. Chinese President Hu Jintao has ordered "the utmost effort" to search for them, Xinhua said.
Another 17 people were killed in mountainous regions of the province's south.
