Kazakh voters' panel: Mirgul Omurzakova
Now is not the time for change. I want the current president Nursultan Nazarbayev to lead the country

MEET THE PANEL
Mirgul Omurzakova
Name: Mirgul Omurzakova
Age: 27
Lives: Almaty
Works: Marketing manager
Votes: Nursultan Nazarbayev

A few years ago I might have voted for somebody else but I have a family, a job and a child and stability needs to be my priority.

I don't feel that any of the other candidates are strong enough to guarantee this.

There's a saying here that it is wise not to always look for a better option. Sometimes, what is available now is better than the unknown.

I am afraid of uncertainty especially after witnessing everything that has happened in neighbouring Kyrgyzstan.

I was very happy for the revolution there but Kyrgyzstan is witnessing great instability now and many people are trying to divide power.

I'm afraid that the same thing could take place here if another candidate wins.

I would like change to occur in a peaceful transition - the way it happened in Russia.

I know about corruption here. It is a major challenge. But this isn't a problem confined to Kazakhstan. It happens all over the former Soviet Union region.

I don't know if the current president is the man to tackle this but at least I know what he's about.
