Vietnamese sculptor dies
Vietnam's most famous female sculptor, Diem Phung Thi, has died at the age of 82.

Although she only began working as an artist at the age of 39, Diem Phung Thi achieved fame for her marble and stone statues.

As a student in the late 1940s, she was a former resistance fighter against French colonial rule.

She later spent more than four decades in France and became a French citizen, before returning to the former imperial capital of Hue in Vietnam, in 1994.

A permanent museum of her work has been established in Hue.
