| Wednesday, 21 November, 2001, 12:19 GMT Singapore politicians sue opposition leader Singapore's two most senior politicians are suing the leader of the main opposition party for defamation. Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong are suing Chee Soon Juan of the Singapore Democratic Party for suggesting that more than $9bn of public money was lent to the government of former Indonesian President Suharto. Mr Chee, who has already complied with demands to apologise for the allegations, said he expected to have to pay in the region of $110,000 in damages. Mr Chee made the allegation during the run up to the November election, which the ruling People's Action Party won by a landslide.
