Police in Australia have arrested more than a hundred protesters who forced their way onto the site of a proposed new uranium mine in the Northern Territory.

The demonstrators are demanding that the site, on the borders of the world heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, be returned to its traditional Aboriginal owners.

Police accused them of using force to enter the property and of chaining themselves to bulldozers and other vehicles.
