The demonstrators, who were led by Mr Marcos' successor, Corazon Aquino, said the former president did not deserve the honour because of the abuse of human rights and widespread corruption during his rule. Correspondents in the Philippines say Mr Estrada is a former supporter of the Marcos government and that his presidential campaign was endorsed by Mr Marcos' widow, Imelda.
