UN confirms Haiti mission chief and deputy dead

The UN has confirmed the head of its mission in Haiti, Tunisian Hedi Annabi, has been found dead in the rubble of its headquarters.

His deputy, Luiz Carlos da Costa of Brazil, and the acting police commissioner, Doug Coates of Canada were also confirmed dead.

United Nations spokesman Ben Malor paid tribute to "wonderful senior colleagues" who "touched many lives".
