Work has begun building the world's largest underwater sculpture garden.

The first of 400 statues have been fixed to the seabed off the Mexican resort of Cancun.

Snorkelers will be encouraged to dive down and inspect the exhibits when the garden is finished in 2011.

Sculptor Jason Taylor explains how the project came about.
