Wildfires are blazing in the foothills north of Los Angeles in the US state of California.
Two firefighters died when their truck was overcome by flames and rolled down the hill. Elsewhere three people were injured trying to defend their homes.
The fire doubled overnight into Monday, and now covers 134 sq miles (347 sq km). Officials fear it could double again in the next few days.
The cause of the blaze, which began on Wednesday, is still not known.
It has destroyed swathes of forest, and 10,000 homes have been threatened. There are mandatory evacuation orders covering many communities.
Crews from across the state have been called in.
Flame retardant is being dropped over the dry brush in an effort to prevent the fire spreading.
