President Barack Obama has been defending his plans to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, saying the prison had damaged America's security.
Meanwhile, former Vice-President Dick Cheney said the "enhanced interrogation" authorised by the Bush administration was "legal, essential, justified and successful".
