Washington's special representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Richard Holbrooke, has said the United States should put more pressure on Pakistan to join American efforts to counter the Taleban.
Mr Holbrooke was speaking on the eve of a meeting between US President Barack Obama with the leaders of the two countries.
