Rescue operation in storm-hit Texas

A huge rescue and relief operation is underway in Texas after it was battered by Hurricane Ike.

The storm flooded thousands of homes and buildings, washed out roads and shattered the windows of many skyscrapers, showering streets with glass and debris.
