| Monday, 6 December, 1999, 15:22 GMT Brazil jailbreak: 100 escape A group of heavily armed men stormed a police station jail in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, setting more than one hundred prisoners free. The attack happened at daybreak on Monday. Police have launched a big search operation and reports say several inmates have so far been recaptured.
