| Tuesday, November 16, 1999 Published at 18:41 GMT World: Americas US-British operation nets 2000kg cocaine The United States coast guard has announced the capture of more than 2,000 kilos of cocaine in a joint operation with the British navy. The drugs were seized from a Panamanian-flagged freighter after it was intercepted by a British warship, HMS Northumberland, off the US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean.
