A Texas prosecutor has ordered that records for the home telephone of former Republican Congressional leader Tom DeLay be submitted to a court. Records from Mr DeLay's campaign office were also subpoenaed.
He was indicted last week on charges of money laundering and conspiracy in a Texas campaign finance case.
Mr DeLay says he is innocent. He has temporarily stepped down from his post as House of Representatives Republican leader to answer the charges.
He accuses prosecutors in Texas of manufacturing charges for political reasons.
The former House leader is a key fundraiser for President George W Bush and is seen as wielding immense political influence.
The indictment, by a Texas grand jury, accuses Mr DeLay of conspiring with colleagues to get around a state ban on corporate funding for political campaigns.
He is alleged to have laundered money for use in an election campaign for the Texas legislature in 2002. He could face up to 20 years for conspiracy and life imprisonment for money laundering.
The prosecutor also requested telephone records for two numbers for Mr Delay's daughter, the Associated Press reports.
The subpoenas list telephone numbers, but not whom they belong to.
They ask for information about the calls, voicemail service at the numbers and long distance calls made from or charged to the numbers.
