Bryant confessed to adultery with his wife at his side |
US basketball star Kobe Bryant has rejected charges that he sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman. Bryant fought back tears as he denied the charge, while admitting to adultery during a news conference with his wife at his side.
He told reporters in Los Angeles that he was "disgusted" at himself for cheating on his spouse.
But he strongly denied assaulting the woman.
"I didn't force her to do anything against her will. I'm innocent," he said.
The 24-year-old Los Angeles Lakers player could face four years to life in prison if convicted.

Bryant needed several seconds to compose himself before speaking, and his voice quivered once he started. His wife Vanessa - who had their first child in January - held his right hand.
"I love my wife with all my heart. She's my backbone," he said.
Earlier, Vanessa Bryant released a statement, saying her husband was "not a criminal".
