The President of Nicaragua, Arnoldo Aleman, has admitted that there is corruption within his administration and it will not be easily eradicated.

Speaking in a television interview, Mr Aleman said he did not know which individual public servants were enriching themselves, but he added that those guilty of corrupt practices would be sought and punished.

He urged Nicaraguans to help identify corrupt officials.
