Puerto Rico's Senate to decide on plebiscite
The Senate in Puerto Rico is expected to decide today whether to hold a referendum on the future status of the Caribbean island.
It's currently a Commonwealth territory of the United States with limited self-government, and it could become a full American state or seek greater independence.
Puerto Ricans voted narrowly in favour of their present status in 1993.
