Jamaica remembers Bob Marley
The people of Jamaica are commemorating the death 20 years ago of the musical legend, Bob Marley.

A candlelit vigil is being held in Kingston at the museum dedicated to his life and work, while radio stations are remembering him through his songs.

Regarded as the greatest reggae artist of all time, Bob Marley was born into a poor family in rural Jamaica.

He died in 1981 of cancer at the age of 36.

He continues to have a large following in Africa, where his music addressed struggles for black liberation in countries such as South Africa and Zimbabwe during periods of white minority rule.
