It is believed most of the 912,000 litres (250,000 gallons) on board have leaked into the sea, and efforts are now concentrating on containing the spreading oil slick. ![]() The spill started on Friday when a pipe burst on board the grounded tanker ![]() US Coast Guards are helping contain the spill ![]() Volunteers remove oil from Carola Bay at San Cristobal Island ![]() Galapagos National Park says at least 30 pelicans have been covered in oil ![]() There is a danger the tanker will sink, threatening underwater sea life ![]() The Galapagos Islands are famous for their exotic wildlife |
