Armed pirates have seized a French-registered cargo ship off the coast of north-east Somalia.

Seven of the mostly-Lebanese crew have been taken off the vessel, to Baargaal district.

The captain and two others are still on board.

One report says the pirates want a ransom, but their exact demands are not clear.
