Kenyan activists representing a community of Maasai people are in Britain as part of a campaign against what they say is the fraudulent seizure of tribal land near the capital, Nairobi, by powerful government figures.

The activists say as many as two-thousand Maasai people in the Ngong Hills are threatened with destitution.

One of the activists, Joseph ole Simel, told the BBC the protests of the community had been ignored.

There's also concern that the traditional pastoralist way of life -- allowing herds of livestock to move freely across communual land -- will be jeopardised by the division of land.
