When I first heard this track, the beat was what my attention but then I really started to listen to what he was saying; he just says it like it is. He might have been misunderstood when mentioning the Queen; just because Saddam was rich at time when this was written song and the Queen is, just goes to show that people make decision based on shallow views and I believe that was what he was trying to put across.

Amazing flow amazing lyrics! record labels r blind not 2 b taking this guy in! its as simple as that.
DJ Moses
Great Britain is a quality tune. Anyone that slates this is doing so cos they know Scor Zay Zee is right. Mr Blair should listen to this every day b4 going to work and then this country might have a chance of going somewhere. This is how Hip Hop should be, not like the top 40 stuff that makes me want to slit my wrists! Big up British Hip Hop... US ain't a patch on us any more.
tasha
Dark! Biggup, aint heard nothing politically INcorrect 4 long time, speak truth.. If only people took notice of why he's 'ranting' about it. Hits home. Keep it up Scor. x
8II8
first time i heard this track and all i gotta say is BIGGUP UK!! finally british rap that make one shook. not being from the island but this gives me the feeling of uprising. more of this and less of cheezz. the lyrics is what make you think but the beat is heavy too. respekt!
hamandegg
What a haunting, pulsating track. Brilliant lyrics.
Eddie-C
this track is bringin some sense and political awareness back to hiphop. hiphop is so powerful it should be used in this positive way more, rather than the negative way of glorifying guns and hostility to fellow working class people. If more if this kind of matereial was spreaded and promoted, it could change the world. People wake up! Scor-say-zee deserves a medal.
Kush Mama
It's disappointing that Zia Brown only sees this track as the 'same old rant regurgitating the same old accusations'. Well if that is the case then have you stopped to ask the question why those 'rants' won't go away? Truth is truth and we are way off from everything being OK with police (secret policeman), government (numerous issues) etc. For all those that says he's 'wrong' - the truth can never be 'wrong' but it can be hidden and it can be avoided or distorted.
Ricky Rinse
This tune is heavy!! Having lost faith in US MC's for a while now, the UK artists and their lyrically led tracks are what i'm feeling most at this moment. People like Klash and even Wiley are much more listenable than G Unit for example. Being proper skint myself i can really relate to Scor-zay-zee's lyrical content. I can't relate to 50 cent.
Jeanpaul
This tune is wack, it lacks a true flow. I appreciate some of the things he says but the rest of it makes him sound like a failing rapper (not that he is!) who's trying way too hard to be controversial!! There is so much UKHH around that's better than this!
EMafiozi
This is the most beautiful lyric I've ever heard... so romantic. Where is my hanky...
jamie ...
any raw uk hip hop has to be promoted... i'm a rapper and were workin night and day and we're still waiting for the revolution... u man keep playing it... big up p and scor-zay-zee... peace...
Martin
Come on! What is this? Why shouldn’t rappers be allowed to rap about politics? I’m from Denmark and we have freedom of speech - a privilege I wouldn’t want to live without……to my understanding the citizens of GB also enjoy that privilege or am I wrong? Freedom of speech is apparently just something you have as long as you have the same opinion as the politicians. Hypocrisy shows its ugly face.
Kowalski
Nice to see you listened to the whole track before moaning Rory. Have you not heard the end bit where he says "I was born and raised in Great Britian". The reason he don't "go live somewhere else?" is because GB is Scorz's home, the place he was born. Idiot!
pab
y is this tune controversial? i think this tells us a lot about 1xtra's corporate roots, jus cos someone chats the truth whether it be iraq or freemasons it's "controversial".
deluxxx
yea its an alrite tune. you sort of get the idea that scor wrote this tune to be controversial, and as a result the lyrics lack substance, compared to past records (i.e. mic life). the tune's pretty good, following on the trend of pairing strings with a political viewpoint, and as a result this 'tried-and-tested' routine works.
Jaspal Singh
I think the guy is wrong, I disagree with his views but I don't think its controversial to put your views forward. More MCs should be doing this sort of thing and maybe someone will put forward views that are based on fact.
Stu, indie rocker
I don't like hip hop, I am a rocker! My flatmate had it on in the background, and I loved the lyrics - tell it how it is BOYZ
michael
wack!!!!
Woody
Sounds great to me, but better be careful - the Thought Police may be afta ya for playing this!! Remember - we are not allowed to have an opinion. Having said that, it's not been banned yet, unlike The Sex Pistols 'God Save The Queen' in the 70s. How old does that make me?!
yad
POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!
Zia Brown
To be honest it isn't even that original, it's like the typical rant you hear from many half-baked rappers trying to be controversial, but basically regurgitating the same accusations against the police, law, government etc in a not particularly eloquent way. I feel like saying 'why don't you do something about all this injustice then, rather than rant on about it and come up with unconstructive rubbish like 'if I had an army I would fight you'?!!!
I don't think this tune is all that at all. To be truly groundbreaking and controversial Scorzayzee would have to be offering more than just the typical ghetto yout 'we're so oppressed' rubbish, which he isnt.
Neda
These fresh dope beats, come smoking out of scor-zay-zee's gun barrel, u get me.
black knight
Well scorzayzee done it again i like the flow & the beat is cool as well. I would love 2 see the track get all the props it deserves although this aint going 2 happen because anything too political aint being accepted right now. If that wasnt the case we would have heard mos def "beef" or pharoahe monch "agent orange" getting more spins.
The truth is artists won't sell units so until the record companies and the masses show demand for these tracks we be getting plied with more commerical tracks & keep being seen as enterianers instead of talented musicans & artists
Mr Samson
You know wot? At the end of the day it's a good message that I think people need to hear so can decipher their own interpretations about the message. Cos we aint perfect and people need to know, well wot we do about it another story. Thats democracy for you.
Messy One
Truth at last! Some of us are waking up and some like Scor are speaking out. For those who call him an idiot who should go and live somewhere else - is that what you suggest when you see social injustice or a system that isn't working? And where exactly would he go, where it'd be better ? That' the whole point. We need a political era now as we did in the late 80's and early 90's. With all that's going on in the world now,it's time for a reality check people. When is this track out? Coz I'll definitely be buyin it.
tommytrouble
This tune is heavy (though i thought the chorus was a little bit tame), and adds to the argument that uk hip hop is breaking boundaries both politically - with other artists such as Jehst (who slams the bnp) and task force having their say - and aesthetically, in that you don't have to LOOK like a rapper to be a rapper - as Scorzayzee says, "when i bust first, they said i wouldn't make it cos i'm white and i'm fat"
Mr Flex
Lyrically ScorZ is one of the best in the UK and he needs to come back! When i first heard this tune i couldnt stop boppin my head. P brothers production is sick, and if any of you aint heard the cappo album go copp that ish.
Do feel what ScorZ is saying, however as with much of UK hip hip will it get heard? its good that 1xtra will be playin it, but who else will, and who's gonna buy it? i will mos def buy this, cos i support uk hip hop to the max! Peace
Irene
Scor zay zee is a breath of fresh air to this controversial industry. Why is it that when people speak the truth it is considered controversial. If p brothers were talking about naked women, drugs and guns, would they be considered controversial? I don't think so because funnily enough that kind of thing is normal these days.
We need to take music and lyrics back to times when it really meant something and it was a real reflection of how life is in this society, or should i say Great Britain! All those artists making music about subjects that no one really cares about any more should learn from p brothers, that us listeners aint buying all that glamour rubbish anymore. And all those people out there buying those rubbish records stop wasting your money and start to support artists like p brothers who have really got something to say that is worth listening to.
Sista Bex
Why is everyone chatting like they're not from GB? I totally support someone speaking their mind and there's loads in this track which isn't normally discussed, but we are all Great Britain and if we feel disempowered then we should be working towards a society where that's not the case. It is a sick tune tho.
Ronda
I'm over here in the States, but I’m still feeling it. It's always refreshing to hear that youth are involved and think about social issues and not just money and girls! Big ups!
Khalid Bryce
lol at "we've got one of the most open political systems in the world". A democracy which uses the flawed capitalist ideology is nothing to boast about
Messiah
It wasn't dat Great!!!
Mike
For ages hip hop has been getting so commercial that some of the most talented rappers out there have forgotten or are jus plain ignorant of the real reasons why hip hop was so respected by its audience. Rap was a way to express how we feel about the real situations takin’ place in our everyday lives, to let people know about what’s being censored.
Personally I don’t give a monkey’s about what ice a rapper owns or how many hoes they been playin’. Dat stuff is all good for clubs and when bustin’ jokes on the mic, but I feel like I’m getttin’ bumped when I get some albums and its full of commercial material forgettin’ about the streets, how the media distorts things and what our government & country is doing. I got much love n respect for what Scor has been sayin', its all controversial but its true, its real!!!
dj flex
filling this tune!!!!
big up scor zay zee!!!
this tune should be big
brendan
this is a fat tune
im filling this
mole
scorz is dope and that's the bottom line. it's all very well having a point to make, but if you make it through average rap over average beats it loses its power. this is good because its good musically, and because scor-zay-zee is lyrically proficient enough to eloquently express interesting views without compromising style.
Dickie
This guy ain't got a clue. fair enough its good to hear some political talk but we've got one of the most open political systems in the world. my guy's lucky that he lives in Great Britain. plus, where does he want the criminals to be if they're not in prison? stupid.
chaz
the p brothers hav done it again, scorz is the best i've heard since cappo & the notts hip hop scene is taking off
Xenon
the track's not saying anything that's not on TV anyway. it's just an opinion he has, rather than the news just tellling you "facts". i like the track and the flow's nice, it's not the first album to say somthing about government/ or people in same position, look at dead prez or paris. even eminem!
Jared LeftLion
The Nottingham scene is kicking off right now. Cappo and Scorzayzee and the P rothers are just the tip of the iceberg. Check out Joe Buddha, Cmone, Tempa, Smokes and Bluntz, Mr 45. Great Britian is some furious spitting, possibly the moist valid anti-monarchy statement since the sex pistols...
Navy K
This is pure reality. This song is a real hip hop song. It's not about pimp nor players it's about real life
jfowle
i think that this song is not so much a literal dictation of the problems in Great Britain today, but more an expression of pent-up anger and oppression against a system which scors feels does not cater for people like himself. on the surface this track seems a bit over the top, but it could be considered as less of a political commentary as a personal exclamation
Honey
Have they gone too far? Why don't we ask if half naked women in music videos has gone too far? Why don't we ask if the classless obsession with cars and clothes has gone too far? It's time black people regained their self respect by saying something worthwhile for a change and presenting a decent image of our women. I've travelled a lot and found that black women are held in low regard around the world because of music videos. I support this track, finally someone has something worth discussing to say.
DJ Klasse
Finally lyricists that have actually taken time out to actually think about what they are saying and talk about something constructive. I would definitely purchase this tune. All the best to them.
Student
Three words: freedom of expression!!! Music and politics cannot be separated, the two have traversed history hand in hand. This artist has a lot to say and whether or not we agree with him, he has accomplished one very important thing: discussion. In this day when people in countries like the US and the GB are allowing their governments to commit terrible acts against society (both domestically and internationally) we need more voices like this. I'm feeling it.
Diego de Santos
The track and vocals have a KRS ONE appeal. Unfortunately, it will probably fall on deaf ears, because, in this era of commercial hip-hop and thug r&b, most "fans" dont want to hear about the realities that surrounds them. Some will say "if you dont like it, leave" , but where are we going to go? Our generation is so far removed from Africa that we cant call it "home". This is "home" now and if the dishes in the sink are dirty, then someone needs to get to cleaning them. Nuff respect to the man that points these things out and more respect to he that actually changes them.
P Brothers
There was a time when hip hop music was all about lyrical science, so it says something about the current state of hip hop when our tune causes a debate. Thanks to 1Xtra for not being afraid to support music that is saying something and thanks to everyone that is buying our album to hear some science like Great Britain. Scorzayzee is a good example of the knowledge that Nottingham is dropping.
Rael turnizle dizle
2 right, Scor-Zay-Zee's gotta point - time 4 changes.
Seedy
Listen to them. This is what hip hop needs more than anything else...some political rap. We all love the party, we all love the shine, the boasts, the beefs etc, but hip hop has always been the artform than speaks out when all others stay quiet and play the corporate game. Scorz evokes the spirits of Public Enemy and speaks on subjects that shouldn't just be in the Guardian letters page. All with his clear Notts accent...big up Scorz and keep it on the hush hush hush.
Sven from good old germany
just think it´s kewl,..bt mayb just coz i dunno their former tracks..
btw big compliment 2 da hol 1xtra crew!!

Rory
if he don't like the UK so much why don't he go live somewhere else? idiot.
sam
I know you guys at the staion have to appear unbiased but when a man speaks the truth it is not controversial it's the truth - as we know history documents what it needs to document and a lot of the truth is guised in what the press love to call consipiracy theories - PLEASE GB has a lot to answer for - speak out, this is 2004 .....PEACE and big up Scor!!!!!
Muszelush from North Carolina
I'm impressed considering I've travelled to GB in the late 80s via the US military. I really am impressed. Not too many want to tackle the history of and call to rectify the wrongs of slavery, war, and economics upon people of diversity and political re-consciousness. It is brave and so much needed. Commendable job. Reminds me of WuTang.
Khalid Bryce
I would say Life's Bush & Blair track was more controversial than this. However this tune is dope. The brother Scor-Zay-Zee addresses issues which people need educating on and in fact could have gone deeper. I would rather listen to MCs being political than telling the world how much money, cars and other material things they possess.
