Sem meets Busta

"It didn’t matter how much respect I gained as a man with dreads, my father couldn’t deal with it. When I cut my hair that was the happiest day of his life!" - Busta Rhymes

"I was looking forward to meeting Busta. Initially he didn’t seem to be in the best of moods when he came in, but once we talked about our shared Jamaican parentage, he warmed up." - Rodney P

:: Busta Rhymes was named by Chuck D, after NFL player Buster Rhymes.

:: He formed Leaders Of The Nu Skool with Charlie Brown, Dinco D and Cut Monitor Milo in 1990.

:: They released 2 albums before the other rappers felt like Busta was taking too much of the shine and tried to push him out.

:: Busta broke out on his own and made some legendary remix appearances on Tribe's 'Scenario' and Craig Mack's 'Flava In Ya Ear'.

:: 95 and 96 were big years - he signed a solo deal with Elektra, released first album 'The Coming', got a top 10 single with 'Woo Hah' and appeared in 'Higher Learning' with Ice Cube.

:: His career has been guided by Violator Management and its CEO Chris Lighty who's a close friend.

:: Through Flipmode Squad, Busta introduced Spliff Star, Rampage and Rah Digga to the world, and he's now bringing thru Papoose.

:: He joined the Aftermath camp in 2005.

:: Busta is still the king of the remix and openly acknowledges that he kills MCs on their own tunes, but can he bring New York back?
