Urban Classic:
In February 2006, we went all out on a landmark, genre-pushing event fusing together grime, rap and classical music in Hackney. The event was unsuprisingly a smash hit and was all over the airwaves, on 1Xtra and beyond.

Damian Marley:
During April 2006, to support the release of his album Welcome to Jamrock, Damian Jr Gong Marley took to the UK with a tour with 1Xtra as official radio partners. He also asked us to organise an exclusive question & answer session in Birmingham as part of our week-long celebration of dancehall music and culture, Dancehall After Dark.

Kano:
In May 2006, we hit Nottingham to bring you full coverage of the UK's biggest hip hop event, UK Takeover. The show featured massive performances from Jehst, Lewis Parker, Klashnekoff, Professor Green and of course, ladies' favourite, Kano, who proved himself wrong by making everybody dance some more.

Jurassic 5:
Throughout September and October, US hip hop supergroup Jurassic 5 took to the road in the UK. Once again we were on hand to lend official support.

Jamiroquai:
In October, in association with the Electric Proms, we brought you UK soulster Jamiroquai live from the roundhouse in London. The permanently-hatted space cowboy delivered a stunning set blending his new output along with old classics that showed he's still very much got it.

Craggz and Parallel Forces:
During December, the northern drum and bass duo dropped an exclusive set from the world famous Maida Vale studios. We were in full effect to bring you the best in cutting edge jungle pressure.
