Digital television makes launching new channels far easier than before. Sky TV now boasts more than 20 music TV channels, one of the most recent of which is Channel U.

Managed by 3 people out of an office in the West End of London, the channel shows predominately British hip hop music videos. Having recently purchased a flat in the UK, Damon Dash has shown an interest in buying part of Channel U.

The channel has since branched out into producing CD and DVD compilations, and will be hosting the inaugural 'Best of British' urban music event at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on 15 October 2005.
