Saturday 23 December

So it's my birthday today, 22 an even number......... which is nice. If any of my friends or relatives are reading this, in future please do not buy me a 'dual present' which is one present, intended to be for both my birthday and chrstmas. You may think it is a smart and cheap way to spread the value of a single present but I dont think it is big or clever. I would prefer to just have either one for my b-day or x-mas O.K? Do i sound like a proper scrooge yet? Good.

Bah Humbug 2006 playa!

seriously have a pimpin xmas y'all!

Saturday 16 December

Played at a very posh place last night called No.5 which is on Cavendish square in London get this, it has a cigar room and a exotic cigar! Shout out to the crazy drunk chick who came and put her full glass on my deck right in the middle of what could have possibly been the greatest mix of my life! What was she thinking? Maybe: 'I need somewhere to put my drink down but I dont want the alcohol to settle. Hang on, that £270 technic deck looks like the perfect place to put my drink down the DJ wont mind and besides that vinyl looks like it can be easily replaced.......'. Rant over.

Playing in Peterborough tonight alongside Robbo Ranks and Ace & Vis at 'the park', pass through if your in the area or you can listen live tonight from 12.

21 is the new 18.

Saturday 9 December

Gears of war, has taken over my life......................

Help me, I can't remeber what sleep feels like....... i think it's warm.

Friday 8 December

I am still holding out on my christmas shopping! i'm determined to leave untill the last possible minute, who's with me??????

Sat in for Ace and Vis today and found out some very interesting information about the origins of the Jibbs track,'Chain hang low'. This is the exact e-mail i was sent....................

Yo Dev,

PULL IT OFF! That song is so garbage. With a garbage message. And the original chant that it comes from has a bloody past. It comes from the Confederate song “Do your ears hang low”. In the American Civil War, the Confederates would make necklaces of the ears of black soldiers they killed. So the song parallels the original in that sense. I absolutely ABHOR that song.

Peace fam…

Thursday 7 December

'Clothes maketh the man'. It's official. Oh and never let your mum handle your car insurance (sorry mum). Here's the story, I was stopped by the boys in blue (and sometimes black) a few months ago and was asked to present them with my licence and insurance. To my surprise, I was informed that my insurance had perished and under the new laws, an uninsured car must be conviscated by the police.

So, I put all of my belonging in a plastic carrier bag (baller!!) and left my car to be towed away. It turned out that my mum forgot to renew my insurance (doh!). Anyway, I had my court appearance on tuesday to decide if I was to be fined and given six points on my licence. I turned up in a suit looking real slick, got a trim the day before and had a humble swagger. I told the truth about what happened and then found out that I get to keep my licence. (Hoooorrrrrrraaaaaayyyyyy!!!). Shout out to all of the bruddas in tracksuits giving me funny looks, fool, your in court not a club, donut.

So look for me crusing down your local highstreet and no you won't see a picture of me in my suit. It was a one off!!!!

Friday 1st December

Sat in the hot seat for Nesha today. Dealt with a truck load of requests. Big up Luci from manchester who told me that her man thinks she's cheating when she swears blind that she's an innocent woman! We played Keyshia Cole, 'I should have cheated' just for her.....!

Oh yeah, what's all this talk about doing christmas shopping early? Don't you know that your supposed to wait untill there's like twenty minutes of shopping time left on christmas eve then you go crazy and rush around a shopping city grabbing what ever you can. I don't know about you but for me, it's just not christmas if I havent had to wrestle a granny for a cardigan or take some toys off a kid at the checkout. That's what christmas is to me, beautiful mayhem. Seasons greetings y'all.

Sunday 26 September

Been a really wierd week.
Found five pounds on the train and when I went to buy some food with it, the man behind the counter told me it was fake!!!! That's some vodoo bad luck right there. Perhaps a disgruntled ex-associate of mine has taken up the practice of dark magic.....

In other news, the long white hair i have been growing on my face has gone. Much to the delight of my producer who tries to pull it out whenever she see's me. I had it at about two and a half inches. I wonder if it will grow back........

Saturday 18 November

Miserable day today, took alot of energy to get out of bed ( damn my extra comfortable duck feather pillow and quilt set!!!! ). Had a banger of a show, Seani B (sat and sun 2-5) passed through and blessed me with a brand new track, Jay-z and Nas 'Black republicans'. Just the mention of a Jay-z and Nas collaboration makes me a little damp in my shorts. You can listen back to my show to hear that track again.

My good deed for the day: Saved a fly from drowing in a cup of tea. Wasn't my tea. I didn't drink it after but then I don't know who's tea it was. Oh well a bit of extra flavour never hurt anyone too badly.

Bad deed of the day: Drank the last bit of milk and put the empty bottle back in the fridge (hehehe).

I'm covering for Nesha from thursday all the way untill the following friday, so make sure you check in with me during the week. Bye for now........

Wednesday 15 November

Woke up this morning scratching my belly, wondering what I'm going to do with my day...... Got a phone call asking me to cover for Ace and Vis ( they are sick, I keep telling them to stop kissing them loose women there ). Had a good show, I learned today that if you are Chamillionare or someone of equal stature, you CAN say to a girl that she looks better from the back. But for us regular joes, we have to stick to the same old routine of actually striking up a good conversation followed by some decent game in order to attact a lady friend. Shame.

I have embraced the geek in me, tomorrow the game of all games comes out, 'gears of war'. So to all my friends, it's been lovely knowing you, but you will not see me again untill the game has been completed numerous times.

See you soon, got y'all in here *thumps chest*.

Saturday 11 November

Ever paid money for something because you saw it on T.V. or because you thought it would make you look cool? I did this week. I paid £1.90 for some beef jerky (raw beef that has been dried, cured and flavoured) all because I thought it looked tasty. (mmmmm). How wrong I was. It's like damp, salty, chewy leather. Worst 'hype' buy ever. Been having good movement recently I think the beef jerky might have spoiled it......

Friday 10 November

Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day... woke up in the best mood today, probably because I ate so well last night. If your ever in Camden, London, you need to hunt down a little place called 'Cottons' and order the fish soup and meat platter. Good times. Only thing that kinda messed with me today was taking a drop outside Warren Street tube station on my board, but I don't know them fools!
Gearing up for my show tommorow make sure your listening or i'm not your friend any more.......

Tuesday 7 November

If your arent easily offended, have a strong stomach and you need a good laugh go and see 'Borat'. Funniest film I have seen this year by far! Make sure your not eating anything during the 'naked wrestling' scene. I appologise to my fellow cinema-goers for rolling aroung in the aisle laughing like a mad man, but I was not ready for that film! Jagshemash!

Saturday 4 November

The thermals are officially on people! I can’t believe how flippin cold it is, my bones are aching. Had a go a friend live on air today, whenever he lends me a DVD, he somehow manages to reveal the entire plot and storyline before I get to see it. What’s the point?! Anyway, in other news I missed the James Bond preview (sigh) don’t really want to go into details (O.K so I got the days mixed up big whup what are you going to do?) so to make up for it I’m going to see the Borat film tonight (Nice, I like).

Friday 27 October

In the 1xtra towers today preparing for my show tomorrow; going through music people have sent me etc. I can't believe that got an invitation to see the new bond film 'Casino Royal' for free! This job is too sick sometimes! Playing in Brighton with Rampage tonight, so you know that's going to be heavy I just have to make sure that I bring my A-game! Picked up Fifa 07 for the xbox 360 today, i'm already an addict but enough about that!

Jenna G (of Sat and Sun 9-12 fame) took some real cool pictures of me skating the other day using a fish eye lense camera and they've finally been developed. Heres one of the best pics....

Dev

This year the pavement, next year the X games. Hehehehehe (yeah right).

Sunday 22 October

Wow..... what a night.
Played the last Freshers tour date last night at the University of Essex. All I can say is that the students there definately know their tunes! There was more dutty wining and willie bouncing than you could shake a 1xtra flavoured stick at. I have to big up Seani B and Rampage on a legendary set i think it's safe to say that by the end of the night every person in the room was completely raved out! I think I saw part of a weave on the floor when the room was empty.
Make sure you check out the pictures so you can see for yourself how sick the night was and if you need more you can always listen back to the whole event. I'm so mash up, I need to go and hibernate untill next years freshers tour. Essex, I am not worthy!!!!

Friday 13 October

Had a super-dope-pimp-heavy night last night. Played at Ravensbourne college in Bromley. The people definatlely knew their tunes and weren't afraid to show some love which is always a good thing. (i think!!)
On the way up there i was stuck in traffic for a bit. I was bored so started looking around at the other screw faced drivers and you'll never guess who was in the back seat of the Jag next to me, Paul O'grady!!! i dont get star struck (yeah right) but i was well chuffed to see him just chillin in the lane next to me!

Landed my first big skateboard trick, Fronside 180!!!1 look out for picture confirmation coming soon.

Oh yeah please tell me that the high top fade isn't coming back in fashion. i have seen a rising number of bruddas sporting this hair style please leave it in the 90's where it belongs!!!! ''A wise man makes his own decisions, an ignorant man follows the public opinion''.

Thursday October 5

Had a wicked night last night. Was at Surrey University alongside Ace and Vis and dj B. Absolutely tore the place down and welcomed the freshers in fine fashion! Cant wait till i get to do the same to Essex University on Sat 21st (check the website for all the details). Seani B and Rampage will also be in the house so you know it's going to be a bashment not a crashment!!!! Covered for Ace and Vis today, their warming up for Jurassic 5 in Newcastle. Talked about old trends that should never come back like, Naff Naff jackets, Mosh jeans and patterns cut into hairstyles (shame). off now to catch some well deserved Z's

remember, if your nose runs and your feet smell- your probably built upside down

Wednesday 4 October

warmed up for jurassic 5 at astoria in central london. played to a sold out crowd who seemed to love the uk hip hop and some drum and bass. I met jurassic 5 backstage and they were sooooo safe, you know how sometimes you meet someone big and they turn out to be a fool, but them guys were proper down to earth. Caught some of their sound check, they had four american stlye school desks with mpc's(drum machines) biult in to them. when they all played together, they built some beat from scratch, amazing!!!! looking forward to tearing up university of surrey tonight as part of the freshers tour so all you students be ready! check the events part of the website for details!!!
i love my job............

Saturday 30 September

been getting in the mood for the hip hop weekend. went to go and see lupe fiasco live at Cargo in east london. he is like the coolest dude in the western hemisphere i wish i could hijack his wardrobe! did a show today from 6-9am played some real big hip hop bangers now i'm going home, going to take my nephew to get his haircut. i know the barbers will be ram, it always is on a saturday!!! warming up for jurasic 5 tomorrow night at astoria in london so i'm rounding off my hiphop weekend nicely. check in with you soon.

Monday 18 September

covered for Ace and Vis today, i think that there supposed to be filming something tomorrow i am SO getting a cameo! Anyway the biggest news was that Cassie was going to be a guest on Ronnie's show so you know i had to hang around and meet her! She arrived early which is unheard of with big name artists, and i can safely say that the telly doesn't do her justice!
she looks amazing in the flesh and she smelt really expensive. i have been giving Cassie alot of stick the past week about her live performances
(dreadfull) but when i was face to face with her all my game went out of the window and i turned into a bumbling idiot, but who cares???? i met Cassie man. YEEEAAAAAAAHH!

Dev meets Cassie

Saturday 16 September

Today on the train there was a man wearing the same sunglasses as me! screwin!!! Dont ask why I was wearing sunglasses on the train, ask why was I annoyed. Why do we get funny when we see people wearing the same clothes as us? Is it because we thought we were the only people in on the planet to own that perticular garment? Or is it that the other person blatently looks better in it? I'll let you decide. had a good show today, made fun of someone called Asda, hahahaha but seriously, i'm back on monday covering for Ace and Vis. Peace

Thursday 14 September

Went skating at a nice outdoor park with some decent ramps. it's behind Alexander palace in crouch end (north london) was going well untill i took a big drop in front of some kids!! went shopping for some new tunes (couldnt find what i wanted; some tracks off of ludacris' new album release therepy).
called twin b and begged for a copy of the terra firma mixtape, he says he does'nt have it, i think he's holding out on me!!!!!!!! i will get my copy, if it's the last thing i do!

Saturday 9 September

Was in a very bitter mood today (don't ask why!!!!), but by the end of the show i was in a much better mood thanks to some very funny text's and partly down to me laughing at Artist's and their middle names, hehehehe, like Bobby 'Barisford' Brown hehehehehe. Going home to jam some xbox 360 if your online look for me my gamer tag is devstar12. See you next week you crazy bunch!!!
