Refund Information
Due to an error, the competition launched on Thursday 23rd September 2010, during the Tim Westwood Show 16:00 - 19:00 on 1Xtra, had to be cancelled. Whilst an announcement was made immediately, there were still a number of listeners who texted in order to enter the competition before the announcement was made. Radio 1Xtra is offering to refund those listeners by way of a 2nd class stamp (value 32p) as compensation for the cost incurred by texting to register.
- 1. Requests for refunds can be made by emailing [email protected]
- 2. Any request for a refund must contain the following details: (i) telephone number from which the text entry was sent (which will have to match the list of incoming text message entries that we registered at the time the competition was cancelled on23/09/2010 during the hours of 16:00 - 19:00 to short code 88111 ); (ii) name of the person requesting the refund; and (ii) address to which the refund postal order should be sent.
- 3. Requests for refunds must be received between 13:00 Friday 24th September and 13:00 Friday 1st October.
- 4. Requests for refunds must be made with the permission of the telephone bill-payer for the mobile phone from which the text to register was made.
- 5. The BBC reserves the right to verify the information provided in the refund request and reject any such request which does not contain all the required information or where the information is not sufficiently clear or legible or where there are reasonable grounds to suspect that a refund request is fraudulent.
- 6. The BBC will endeavour to pay any refunds within 14 days of receipt of the relevant request.
- 7. Any person placing a request for refund, in doing so, will consent (and, where necessary, cause the bill-payer's consent to be granted) to the BBC processing any personal data involved, which might be necessary to process, verify and pay the refund.
