Grime scene pioneers, Roll Deep, have spent the year setting the charts and dancefloors alight, with their single Good Times holding the number 1 position in the UK charts for 3 consecutive weeks. This was followed by another number 1 Green Light, and to date they have sold over 300,000 singles.
In 2005 they released their debut album In At The Deep End, and their line up includes such musical royalty as Wiley, Breeze, Scratchy, Flow Dan and Danny Weed, as well as crew veterans Brazen, Manga, J2K and 1Xtra's very own DJ Target. Hailing from East London, the crew have always been at the forefront of the Grime scene, and they have performed all over the place from Europe to America and Japan.
They have supported the likes of 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg and played festivals such as Wireless and Glastonbury. Heavy hitting artists who have been associated with them are Tinchy Stryder and Dizzee Rascal and they are currently working on their next album, due to land soon.
On the night we had a live webchat with Roll Deep - read the transcript of our chat below.
