Supporters from both sides crowded on to the pitch after the final whistle |
The chairman of the Guernsey Football Association believes the violence which marred the end of the Muratti on Saturday was a storm in a teacup. Trouble flared amongst the crowd after the Sarnian's defeated Jersey 1-0 at home to lift the title for the first time in five years. Mark Le Tissier said the incident, in which one Jersey fan was arrested, was a one-off incident. He said it was disappointing, but did not see it being repeated. Mr Le Tissier said: "It's always disappointing if you do have any sort of altercations, it doesn't matter how minor it is. I don't see it being repeated on a regular basis."
