The Reverend Richard Hart will appear in court again on 10 July |
A vicar has appeared in court charged with 18 counts of possessing and making indecent images of children. The Reverend Richard Hart, 59, from Beguildy, near Knighton, Powys, was bailed to reappear at Brecon Magistrates' Court on 10 July. Mr Hart, a Church in Wales vicar, did not enter a plea to the charges so one of not guilty was entered on his behalf by magistrates. His case will be transferred to crown court at the hearing in July. Mr Hart, dressed in a black suit, a white shirt and a blue tie, was making his first appearance in court since his arrest in January. He is charged with 13 counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of a child, dating from October 2002 until 2008, and five charges of possessing an indecent photograph or pseudo photograph of a child. Mr Hart was given conditional bail and will reappear at Brecon Magistrates' Court at a later date.
