David and Susan Fundell are helping police |
A couple arrested by police investigating the disappearance of a family of six from Cardiff have been released and will not face charges. A search was under way when the family contacted police in Cornwall after seeing an appeal in a newspaper.
A major police investigation was launched after David and Susan Fundell and the children left home on 29 June.
South Wales Police said the couple were still helping with their inquiries but would not be charged.
Officers also said four children had been taken into protective custody.
South Wales Police said Mr Fundell, 57, and his 41-year-old wife were still in Cornwall.
Twenty police officers were involved in the investigation.
An appeal for information was launched on Monday, and Mr Fundell contacted police in Cornwall on Tuesday.
As part of the inquiry, a detailed forensic examination was carried out at the family home in Ely, in the west of Cardiff.
