The BBC Election 2010 websitewill be home to the fastest multimedia news, results and analysis service on the web during what is expected to be one of the tightest polls for years.

Our live page will feature minute-by-minute updates on key developments and events in text, video and audio.

When polling closes, seat-by-seat results will be available overnight on Thursday and into Friday on your PC, laptop or mobile.

Web teams across England , Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland will provide the latest news for where you live on your local election index.

The best of the BBC's TV and radio output will also be streamed live on the site.

Elsewhere, TV election night coverage, beginning at 2155 BST, will be headed by David Dimbleby, presenting his eighth general election.

BBC political editor Nick Robinson will be providing analysis; presenters Emily Maitlis and Jeremy Vine will explain the significance of results through studio graphics - including the famous Swingometer; and presenter Fiona Bruce will keep viewers up to date with regular news bulletins.

On BBC Radio 4, James Naughtie and Carolyn Quinn will present Radio 4's Election Special between 2200 and 0600 BST, while Martha Kearney, Andrew Marr, Justin Webb, Jenni Murray, Julian Worricker, Libby Purves, Ed Stourton will report from key constituencies.

Over on BBC Radio 5 live Victoria Derbyshire and John Pienaar will present their Election Show, also between 2200 and 0600 BST. Listeners will be encouraged to get involved by discussing what they make of the results as they come in.

Across the UK

In Scotland, the TV Election Night Results programme will be on BBC One Scotland from 2155 BST with Jackie Bird, Glenn Campbell and Brian Taylor. On radio, the results programme is with Derek Bateman, and Radio nan Gaidheal will broadcast the Gaelic-language results show.

On BBC One Northern Ireland the results programme will be presented by Noel Thompson and Jim Fitzpatrick from 2155 BST. BBC Radio Ulster's programme will be with Mark Carruthers and Karen Patterson.

On BBC One Wales , the Election Night programme will be headed by Huw Edwards again from 2155 BST, and on S4C by Dewi Llwyd. Adrian Masters and Sarah Dickins will present the Radio Wales show, and Radio Cymru hosts will be Garry Owen and Elin Gwilym.
