As voting gets under way across Europe to decide who will be sitting in the European Parliament for the next five years, The Record Europe looks back over its last five year term.

We ask what the key moments of this legislature have been - and how the addition of twelve new member states has affected the way the parliament works.

Joining Shirin Wheeler in the studio are five MEPs from the Parliament's main groups:

• Dan Jorgensen MEP, the Danish Socialist vice chairman of the Environment committee
• Corien Wortmann-Kool MEP, the Dutch Christian Democrat and vice-president of the European People's Party
• Jelko Kacin MEP, leader of the Slovenian Liberals in the European Parliament
• Jean Lambert MEP, British Green MEP
• Bernard Wojciechowski MEP, Polish member of the Independence/Democracy group

On the continent

The Record Europe's Jonny Dymond has been finding out what voters on the continent really think of the EU.

Jonny has been probing voters asking what issues will affect the way they vote.

Over the last 40 days he has travelled through ten EU countries and sent us a flavour from his trip.

The Record: Europe examines the key moments in the political week in Brussels and Strasbourg and focuses on the work of the European Parliament and European Commission.

It is broadcast on BBC Parliament on Saturdays at 2300, Sundays at 1700 and Mondays at 1000, on BBC World on Saturdays at 1330 and Sundays at 0630 and on the BBC News channel on Sundays at 0530 and Mondays at 0330.
