How to vote in the London elections

In the 1 May elections, London voters will receive three ballot papers to vote for the Mayor of London, a London Assembly constituency member and a London-wide Assembly member. Each contest uses a different voting system, so the three ballot papers are designed differently.

The ballot paper for the Mayor of London is pink. It lists of all the candidates that are standing in two columns. In the election for the Mayor you have two votes - for a first and a second choice.	The London Assembly Constituency Member ballot paper is yellow. The ballot paper has a list of all the candidates that are standing in the election and one column.	The London-wide Assembly Member ballot is peach-coloured. The ballot paper has a list of all the political parties and independent candidates that are standing in the election and one column.
Vote for your first choice candidate by marking a cross in column one. Vote for your second choice candidate by marking a cross in column two.	In the election for your London Assembly Constituency Member you have one vote.	In the election for the London-wide Assembly Member you have one vote.
If you only mark a first choice, your vote will be counted - you do not have to cast your second choice vote. But not making a second choice will not improve the chances of your first choice candidate.	Vote for your choice of candidate by marking a cross in the box next to the candidate's name.	Vote for your choice of political party or independent candidate by marking a cross in the box next to the party or candidate's name.
If you only mark a second choice vote and not a first choice vote, your second choice vote will not be counted.
