Malik maintains innocence
Salim Malik - still a member of Pakistan's Test side
Former Pakistan captain Salim Malik has rejected the chance of a face-to-face meeting with Shane Warne and Mark Waugh as part of the inquiry into claims that he tried to bribe them.
The two Australians are due to appear before the Pakistan judicial commission in Melbourne on January 8.
They claim Malik offered them money to play badly during Australia's tour of Pakistan in 1994.
He told the AP news agency he would not be attending the hearing but would send a lawyer to question the pair.
"There is no use going to Australia. The Australian Cricket Board is protecting its players," he said.
Malik insists he has never been involved in betting or match-fixing.
Waugh gave evidence to the commission in Lahore earlier this year but he and Warne subsequently admitted receiving money from a bookmaker for supplying pitch and weather information during a trip to Sri Lanka, also in 1994.
Malik claims the revelation discredits the evidence against him.
