Disgraced sprinter Jason Livingstone is considering legal action against athletics bosses over his doping ban.

Jason Livingstone: "Blood tests must be introduced"
The news follows the acquittal of European 200m champion Dougie Walker of similar drugs charges earlier in the week.

Livingstone, who was banned for four years for failing a drugs test, believes he too can clear his name.

The British athlete has served his suspension and is now back in competition.

Livingstone says his case bears comparison to that of Walker and believes it should be reviewed in light of the fact that the Scottish 200m runner was exonerated by a disciplinary panel earlier this week.

He argues that the current drug testing procedures are not adequate and the system should be overhauled.

"The only way forward is blood testing," he said.

"Whether that would have sorted out this case, I don't know, but every case now where there's a doping offence there seems to be so much doubt and nobody really knows what's going on.

"There are no clear-cut cases any more and something needs to be done.

"They spend all this money on new testing procedures, but I don't think it's making any difference."
