 Students from several countries compete in Dare to be Digital |
Abertay University in Dundee has been shortlisted for a top European gaming industry award. The university's "Dare to be Digital" is a finalist in the Education New Talent category of the Develop Industry Excellence Awards. A panel of 100 experts will choose the winner, which will be announced in Brighton in July. "Dare to be Digital" is a competition which sees students designing and building a computer game in 10 weeks. Abertay hosts the Scottish heat of the contest. The 2008 event will feature students from universities in Dundee, Edinburgh, India, China, Ireland and England. In total, 85 young games designers from 15 universities will take part. At the Develop Industry Excellence Awards, Abertay is competing against Microsoft, Rare, Blitz, Derby University and Hull University.
