Robbie concert tickets 'stolen'
Robbie Williams
Robbie Williams will perform at Hampden Park this weekend
More than 500 tickets for Robbie Williams concerts due to be sent to fans have been stolen after going missing in the post.

Police fear they may have been sold on by touts and warned that anyone using them at this weekend's Hampden Park shows in Glasgow would be turned away.

Promoters DF Concerts said 560 tickets destined for buyers in the Falkirk and Dunfermline areas had gone missing.

Williams will perform to more than 110,000 fans at the stadium.

The passes have now been cancelled and anyone attempting to use them to gain entry to either of the Friday or Saturday concerts face questioning from Strathclyde Police.

Police inquiry

Ch Supt Robin Howe, in charge of policing the concerts, said: "A quantity of tickets are believed to have been stolen and it is likely that they have now been sold on to unsuspecting fans who will be hugely disappointed as these tickets have been withdrawn by the promoters and are no longer valid."

He added: "There will be a special police operation at the turnstiles and anyone in possession of them will be subject to a police inquiry as to how they obtained them."

It is thought about 380 tickets for the Friday and 180 for the Saturday events were stolen.

They were all passes for seated areas.

A DF Concerts spokeswoman said: "These concerts are sold out and any music fans who have taken a risk here will be disappointed."
