Scottish Opera has appointed a former senior manager with News International Newspapers as its chairman. Colin McClatchie replaces William Taylor QC.
Mr McClatchie, who previously held a senior position with the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, was Glasgow-based Scottish Opera's vice-chairman.
He said: "Our paramount objectives are for Scottish Opera to produce more opera and maintain our reputation for quality, imagination and innovation."
