Pupil sets site on exams
Easy Grade site
The site is designed to help Higher Still pupils
A pupil has launched an internet site aimed at helping his peers prepare for their Higher Still exams.

Faiz Rasul, a pupil at Elgin Academy, said his Easy Grades website had been designed with the needs of students in mind.

The 18-year-old, who launched the site in Aberdeen, said it was unique and allowed pupils to exchange notes on a range of subjects.

However, amid concerns that some pupils have been using websites to plagiarise material, Faiz denied that the site could be used to cheat.

He said: "I don't think there's too much difference between someone who will cheat from a revision book and someone who will cheat using the internet.

"The notes themselves aren't easy answers to questions, they are simply notes to help you revise.

"If someone comes along and downloads the notes, it's not going to help them pass the exams.

"You've got to do the revision before. These are just additional notes to make sure you're on your way."

Elgin Academy has commended Faiz on his initiative and said he had reaped the benefits of his training in information technology.

The Scottish Qualifications Authority said it could not comment on websites designed to help students to revise.
