Gay sex is a crime in India. So when the son of a Maharajah came out publicly in the western Indian state of Gujarat, he was shunned by his family and the local community. But Manvendra Singh Gohil - the Prince of Rajpipla - is unfazed, and unashamedly describes himself as a gay activist. Ten years ago he founded the Lakshya Trust with some friends. Lakshya is a non-governmental organisation committed to working on HIV/AIDs prevention among men who have sex with men. But the majority of these men are married. So in a ground-breaking move, Lakshya began working on HIV prevention with the wives of these men. In a series of extraordinarily candid interviews, Crossing Continents hears the stories of men and women whose married lives stray far from what is considered the norm in India.
