In pictures: Darfur rallies | Around the world, people have been holding protests, prayer meetings and vigils urging Sudan to allow a UN force into Darfur. Protesters wore the blue berets of the UN peacekeepers who they say should be given immediate access to the region. People of all ages took part in the protest against what the US, France and many aid organisations say is genocide. In a show of unity, religious leaders joined together outside the UK prime minister's home to say a prayer written for the occasion by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Many argue that the international community ignored the genocide in Rwanda and should now live up to its promise of 'never again'. In New York's Central Park, where some 20,000 people gathered, speakers repeated the call for UN deployment in Darfur.
