Joseph Warungu kicks off his Africa Live! odyssey from the Kenyan capital, Nairobi - meaning place of cool waters.

Nairobi is full of commercial and industrial activity. It is a key international communication hub in sub-Saharan Africa.

It also used to be described as the green city in the sun, but now it more resembles a concrete jungle. It is also home to the largest slum in Africa and faces high levels of street crime and of late even flying toilets!

Joseph then moves on to Eldoret - the biggest rendezvous for Kenya's long distance runners - Kipchoge, Kiptanui, Kimutai and the ilk.

It has what the government terms Kenya ordinance factory.

In simple terms a factory for manufacturing bullets!

On the third day, Joseph will find himself in Tororo on the border of Kenya and Uganda.

A girl wakes up on the Kenya side and plucks a kiss across the border in Uganda! This hilly area is also known for its cement production.

The day after that, Joseph cruises along the shores of Lake Victoria to Jinja.

This is Uganda's industrial town, also known for its sugar production.

Finally, on Day Five of Africa Live!, Joseph will be in Kampala, the capital city and home to Kabaka, King of Baganda - the largest tribe in Uganda.
