"He is someone we are going to have to watch out for. His strike against the Romanians turned the game for the Germans in about five seconds.

"He is a world class player, the sort of player you have got to watch for 90 minutes."

Keegan is mindful that England's match with Germany on Saturday is the first of two against the same opponents this year.

"The Germans will see it as a platform to go on and prove people wrong who think their football is not as good as 20 years ago, and to keep going what they see as having something over on England.

Keegan will not change his footballing philosophy

"We see it as chance to maybe end all that and swing the pendulum the other way."

Keegan was criticised in some quarters for not adapting his strategy when England began to lose the initiative against Portugal.

But it appears his philosophy is not going to change:

"If we go ahead against the Germans I don't think we will do anything too much different because we are going to set out to cause them problems when we get the ball.

"But what we will do differently is that we will be more focused on how we defend as a team.

"We have got to try and prepare ourselves to counteract what they are good at, but without losing what we are good at," says the England coach.
