Madonna ate pizza, despite following a strict diet

Singer Madonna has revealed on a US TV chat show that she will never get married again.

Appearing on David Letterman's show, the 51-year-old said she would rather be "run over by a train" than tie the knot for a third time.

The star, now divorced from film director Guy Ritchie, also admitted it was not always easy being alone.

"Being a single parent means you're kind of in charge of everything," said the singer.

She added: "You can't go 'hey, can you give the kids a bath?' There's no job sharing."

The star, who recently released her third greatest hits album called Celebration, referred to George W Bush's period as US president, joking that her eight year marriage had only lasted "the Bush years".

She then added: "It was a good time to be out of America."

During her eighth appearance on Letterman's show, Madonna revealed she had never visited a New York pizzeria.

So Letterman took the pop star - who is famous for her healthy diet and lifestyle - to a local restaurant where she was seen eating pizza.
